 As the sun is eternal, so will the undying merits of President Kim Il Sung for mankind shine for all

eternity

July 8 marks the 30th anniversary of the President Kim Il Sung’s passing away. It may seem pointless

to recall his life, his work, his personality. However, we live in a time when the media deliberately

convey distorted, false and misleading information about the DPRK. Therefore, we are going to

briefly summarize his accomplishments.

Kim Il Sung was born at a time when his homeland was a lawless colony of semi-feudal Japan, and

spent his childhood in a poor peasant family like the majority of the Korean people. He was

fortunate that his parents raised him to be patriotic and revolutionary. As a young man, he left his

homeland to fulfill his father's idea that those who want to make a revolution must first have a good

understanding of the current situation in their homeland.

In the process of building a new path for the Korean Revolution, he understood that without the

involvement of the popular masses, it was impossible to win. That it is not possible to win even on

the basis of some decrees or approvals, but that it is necessary to have one's own convictions and

take responsibility. To resolve all issues in accordance with the real conditions of one's country, on

independent and creative principles.

The educated young Kim Il Sung laid the foundations for the new doctrine of Juche, which opened a

new era of independence, where for the first time in history the popular masses became masters of

their own destiny. With the establishment of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army, he ended the

Japanese military occupation of Korea and thwarted the aggression and plans of the US imperialists.

His remarkable ideological and theoretical activities became a great stake in the victorious advance

towards the independence of his country.

In difficult times of shortage, without the support of regular troops, he waged a heavy anti-Japanese

armed struggle until the victory and liberation of Korea in August 1945.

He founded the Korean Labour Party, reformed the economy and proclaimed the Democratic

People's Republic of Korea in 1948.

A new history of socialist Korea began to be written.

Il Sung means: to be the sun. And the sun shone on the path of life for the great leader in all his

activities. He wrote many publications. He was a writer, a musician a he was simply a great

personality of the last century.

He was constantly refining the ideas of Juche, defining the transformation of the whole society as

the main task of the Korean Revolution.

He worked hard for the Party, for the revolution, for his country and people, for independence and

world peace until the last moment of his life.

And what is the significance of Kim Il Sung's personality for today?

He has a great significance, he managed to understand his own nation, which he led out of the

domination of Japan. The teachings of Juche were based on knowledge of his homeland. He realised

that he could do nothing on his own, so with his charisma he motivated Korean people to support

his idea and encouraged them to starte the difficult journey to freedom under his leadership.

And why do we support the DPRK?

Our country is smaller than the DPRK, we have half the population, and yet we have deep history of

relationship with DPRK. Our friendly relations began to develop in 1948, when the then

Czechoslovak government recognised the establishment of the DPRK as an independent state and

established mutual friendly relations, which continued to develop until 1989, when the Czechoslovak

Socialist Republic turned away from socialist country intoa capitalist one through a peaceful

revolutionary by its citizens.

We try to inform the public in the Czech and Slovak Republic about the true facts about the DPRK

through our educational work for the public, and we are also dedicated to spreading the ideas of the

Juche, explaining their basic tasks. It is not easy to defend the Idea; today's political and economic

influence, especially of the USA, is spreading all over the world, undermining the sovereignty of

independent states by blocking the development of economic activities.

We wish the Korean people a joyful, happy life. We will support all steps taken by the DPRK

government to relax the US blockade, steps that will lead to the consolidation of peace.
